The Rank for $ales Weekly Newsletter, page 15

(Continued)     October 2, 2004 edition

So, in your example, if the site you want to exchange links with has a homepage of PR 5 and their ‘resources’ (or links) page has a PR of 2, then Google will calculate a PR of 2 going to your site, and not 5.

If you can try to get your link placed on their homepage, you would get the credit of a PR 5 instead to your site, although I doubt they would place your link on their homepage!

The only companies and webmasters I know that place links on their homepages are people that are actually renting you links, in exchange of money. “I will place your link on my homepage, if you pay us xx dollars per month". This is actually the process of link leasing and I devoted a whole article to that last April. You can read it by clicking here.

If you are really serious about link leasing, I will steer you in the direction of a link leasing broker I’ve come to know and respect: LinkRent.com. They also happen to advertise on our site, although the real reason I can safely recommend them is I've been using their services for the past year and they are a professional organization. There are other good ones too.

Just shop around, ask questions and deal with a company you feel comfortable with and that you can trust. As much as reciprocal link exchanges are critical to the vital success of your website, so is link leasing and you should always approach the subject carefully.

You can visit Link Rent at www.linkrent.com and their leasing services are reasonably priced, when compared to other link leasing brokers I know.
