Why Optimize a web site?

December 10, 2004

When anybody creates a web site, the very techniques and the structure of the site itself can have an adverse effect in the Search Engine Results Pages (SERP's). Many times, clients come to us with sites that, when they were developed, had only the site visitors in mind.

The key to SEO success is to have a site that is search engine friendly. Some of you might be questioning: "Well how does one go about creating a site that will be search engine friendly"? Fortunately, there are many techniques we use that will really make a big difference in the SERP's.

Without any exception, all SEO techniques used by Rank for Sales are all industry-standard and approved by all the major search engines. Under no circumstances will we ever put at risk the rankings of any web site by utilizing mythical techniques.

Rank for $ales has instituted a seal of quality that we strictly adhere to for all of our clients. This seal of quality effectively protects all web sites optimized by us from ever being banned or penalized by any major search engine*. If we had to summarize the only three very basic techniques in SEO, we would say they are:

         Title of the page
         Keyword density
         Actual text and sales copy

Forget about old-time SEO myths such as meta tags and doorway pages. The only thing they might do for your web site is get you banned in search engines such as Google or AltaVista.

As of November 2003, Google is the Number One mostly-used search engine on the Internet, counting close to 90% of all search traffic. Those are a lot of SERP's. We actually know of small and medium-size companies that their livehood actually depend on Google.
